In the fall / winter of 2014, we remodeled a stunning kitchen located in Valhalla, NY. In just ten weeks, we carried out a complete restoration down to the studs. The kitchen was made into an open floor plan, complete with transitional styling. To make this possible, a bearing wall was completely removed, which made way for more space overall.
In the kitchen, stone and metal back splash tiles were used to accent the Kraftmaid maple cabinets, which feature dove white shaker-style doors. The Grohe pulldown faucet on the Island, compliments the Kohler Apron stainless steel sink. Surrounding the sink are white quartzite counters with oak strip flooring. The Island is beautifully lit from recessed lighting along with a custom suspended Led fixture. The fixture picks up the warmth in the solid oak hardwood floor, which was carefully picked out in a natural light stain.
Around the kitchen, you can find angle crown molding which frames the room and adds just enough delicacy to the space. The clear chairs in the middle of the room optically make the room appear even more spacious. They reflect the stainless steel refrigerator, that is across the room.
The renovation completed in this home is both transitional, and classic. With the upgraded floor plan, home owners can easily navigate around the area and make the most out of their eating area.
